ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
Watching the moon track in real time across the screen of your camera, faster than it’s ever appeared to move to the naked eye, and capturing your first photograph of this ever present feature of our skies that has inspired cultures and society through the ages is a humbling and truly rewarding experience.
These are amongst my favourite images that I’ve ever captured. They bring me a childlike joy and sense of wonder as I gaze on the craters and contours of something so far away and entirely inaccessible to nearly all life on our planet; and yet it reminds me of how incredibly vital it is to our existence. It’s powerful stuff, and being able to capture it on a 35mm sensor is all the more incredible.
